MEMORY OF SASHA:
Februsry 25. 2010
Just wanted you all to know that we lost Sasha to cancer this afternoon. She was diagnosed with a stage 2 mast cell tumor last August. We had the tumor removed that month and unfotunately it returned with a vegence following its removal. We treated her with various chemo drugs to no avail. Last night, she started with some heavy breathing and this morning she would not eat or drink at all. I took her in to the cancer specialists we were using in Fort Lauderdale (who were wonderful by the way) and they found that the cancer had spread to her stomach which was filling with fluid and also her lungs. I was told she only had a few days to live. She was suffering so much that we decided that it would be best just to let her go. She could barely walk anymore and she just wasn't the same. She was quite a trooper through all of the chemo and drugs we were givening her to stop the nausea and vomiting related to the mast cell. The clinic personnel had fallen in love with her and were just as upset as we were. Sinatra, her partner, doesn't really know that she is gone. With three other dogs to keep him busy I don't think he realizes that she is missing. Both of us (Barry and Richard) are not quite believing the loss happened so quickly. Keep us in your thoughts I Know Sasha is in a better place now and is finally free of the cancer.
We will miss her dearly. Barry and Richard…. Sinatra, Athena, Thor, and Luke
Please remember Sasha.
