Anne loved life, family, friends, and the pack of Siberian huskies that she and her husband, Jack, had rescued from animal shelters and pet shops. With her usual good natured aplomb, she would ensure that the old man, Alex, did not steal the dinner of Star, the escape artist, and that the irrepressible Ski, the new young male, did not totally upset the applecart. Her dogs and the joyous and rather tumultuous greeting they provided all visitors were all part of the warm welcome Anne and Jack provided to everyone who knew them. On the weekend of Anne’s memorial service, her daughter Robin brought her own two rescued Siberians, Barstow and Shalia, from California to Florida. And, not surprisingly, on a hot July afternoon that weekend, we all found ourselves pounding down the side walk after a liberated pack of huskies, led by the irrepressible Star, who had once again found an opening. Anne, laughing, would have joined in the pursuit. She also would liked how family and friends were remembering her by helping others rescue and save the wonderful dogs she loved so much.
Anne's family in conjunction with the South Florida Siberian Husky Rescue has setup this special fund to further Anne's cause to helping Siberian Huskies. 100% of the funds collected go to helping that cause.
